After a rain-affected match at local side Green Lane CC last time out, the 1st XI travelled to play Horsforth Hall Park CC. This was a tight contest throughout, as regular wickets from Chads, who were asked to field first, kept the home team's score in check. Robert Heald and Praveen Thotagamuwa were the pick of the bowlers as they both took four wickets each, while Tom Russell and Archie Havis took one apiece as Horsforth Hall Park were bowled out for 193.

With the bat, opener Saugata Bhattacharya scored 34 from 96 balls and was supported by Michael Walters who fell one short of a half-century with 49 from 60. Praveen provided some exciting hitting towards the end, with 23 from just 19 deliveries, but Chads fell 10 runs short of the home team's score as they finished their 45 overs on 183/8. Despite the result, the table is tight in the division, so a couple of wins could see the 1st team push up the table.
