Following an entertaining match away at Green Hammerton CC last week, the 4th XI travelled to Menston CC - Crompark in what ended up being another thrilling match. Batting first, Aakash Shinde (41 from 48) and Sivakumar Vedanayagam (22 from 16) got Chads off to a flying start. A couple of wickets saw the hosts get back into the match, but Muhammad Abdullah (22 from 27) and Divyansh Khandelwal (76 from 85) kept the score ticking. Divyansh was out off the last ball, as the 4th XI reached their highest score of the season with 211 all out from 40 overs.

Menston CC - Crompark were good with the bat, but Sivakumar’s three wickets for 37 off 10 overs saw the home side fall to 119/3 and the contest could still go either way at drinks. Further wickets through spin kept Chads in the match and at 166/6, the visiting team were looking strong. However, the key batter from Menston CC - Crompark, batting at three, proved to be the match winner with an impressive 79 not out as the home side won by four wickets with just two overs left in a nail-bitting match.
