1. What are your nicknames at the club?
Corky (Dominic Cork resemblance) and Bowling Machine because I can bowl any batter into form.
2. When did you join Chads and why?
I joined the U9s at Chads over 20 years ago with a group of friends from school. Officially joined the seniors in 2010 and since then have played, coached, and (vice) captained at various levels in the club. Served a short stint on the Management Committee too.
3. Which other clubs have you played for?
(Old) Leeds Modernians, my Dad's team.
4. What is your most memorable Chads match or moment?
A game I was due to play in but after having spent the reverse fixture (scorecard) at their place in 35 degree Easter sun chasing the ball around the field all day on the way to conceding 334, I opted out of playing against Green Lane at the Chad (scorecard) and went to sunny Barcelona on a works trip instead - the rest is history!
5. Who are your all-time top three Chads players?
Ewan Brannan, that scorecard speaks for itself!
Chris Benedek, set a whole heap of records for the club as our first overseas player in a long time and was even kind enough to invite me to stay at his in Australia for Christmas one year.
Howard Johnson, good bloke with a lot of time for people, decent batter too.
6. What are your top three self-promotion facts?
Won back to back club bowling trophies for 3rd XI and 2nd XI in my first two senior seasons.
Getting Nigel Martyn (MOT) out in a league game.
Most recorded not outs at the club of all time (at least on PlayCricket).
7. What tune would you most like to go out to bat to?
7 - Catfish and the Bottlemen
I'd be happy to score that many runs these days.
8. Which sportsperson do you compare yourself to and why?
Dale Steyn? Under 6ft! Bowls gas!
Realistically? James Milner. Happy to do any role for the good of the team!
9. What do you love the most about Chads?
The opportunity it gives me to coach, socialise, and occasionally play some cricket.
10. What is your favourite part of the Chads ground and why?
The boundary gate in front of the pavilion. Whenever you get a rubbish decision (or a rubbish score) it helps to have something silly like a boundary gate marked out in full finery to remind you it's only a game!
11. What one thing would you change about the club?
Get that outfield flattened off.
