Opening Up Evening

Opening Up Evening

St Chad's Broomfield CC29 May - 00:00

A powerful initiative combining cricket with conversations about mental well-being.

The rearranged Opening Up evening will be on Monday 30th June, at 7pm. The evening will focus on raising awareness about the importance of discussing mental health within the sporting community.

Founded to promote positive mental well-being and suicide prevention in cricket, Opening Up Cricket has been instrumental in encouraging players, coaches, and supporters to embrace open conversations around mental health. This event aims to break the stigma associated with mental health struggles, showing that speaking out and supporting one another can strengthen both individuals and teams alike.

Attendees will have the chance to engage with insightful discussions on mental resilience, well-being strategies, and the value of fostering a supportive environment both on and off the field. The event will emphasise the benefits of talking about mental health, such as reducing stress, building stronger relationships, and encouraging players to seek help when needed.

Cricket is often described as a mental game, requiring focus, confidence, and resilience. By openly addressing mental health, players can improve their performance and overall well-being, ensuring they thrive both in sport and everyday life.
