Junior Shirt Sponsorship Announced

Junior Shirt Sponsorship Announced

St Chad's Broomfield CC23 Apr - 00:00

Chick-fil-A backs the future!

We are delighted to announce a major new partnership that will support the next generation of young cricketers.

Chick-fil-A has agreed a three-year sponsorship of the Club’s junior playing shirts, strengthening the pathway for children discovering the game and reinforcing the Club’s commitment to accessible, community-centred cricket.

This long-term agreement marks a significant milestone for the Club as it continues to expand opportunities for young people across the local community and surrounding area. With junior participation at an all-time high, the support from Chick-fil-A ensures that every child can take the field with pride, wearing high quality kit that reflects the Club’s identity and values.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

At its heart, this agreement is about more than logos on shirts. Chick-fil-A’s focus on community investment, positive experiences for young people, and long-term local engagement aligns closely with the Club’s mission to provide a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment for children of all backgrounds.

Both organisations share a belief in the power of sport to build confidence, resilience, and belonging. This partnership reflects a mutual commitment to nurturing young talent and ensuring that cricket remains open, welcoming, and affordable for all families.

Strengthening the Junior Cricket Pathway

The Club’s junior section continues to grow rapidly, with record numbers of children training, playing, and progressing through the pathway, and a record number of teams entered into local junior leagues this season. From All Stars and Dynamos to competitive hard ball cricket, more young players than ever are discovering the joy of the game at our Club.

The new partnership will help the Club:

  • Provide consistent, professional quality kit across all junior squads
  • Reinforce a strong sense of identity, belonging, and pride among young players
  • Invest more resources into coaching, equipment, and volunteer development
  • Support the Club’s ambition to expand opportunities for both recreational and competitive cricket

The three-year term also gives the Club the stability to plan ahead, strengthen its junior pathway, and continue delivering high-quality cricket experiences for children of all ages and abilities.

A Warm Welcome to Chick-fil-A

Club Chairman Paul Berry said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Chick-fil-A as our junior shirt sponsor for the next three seasons. Their commitment to supporting young people and investing in local communities mirrors the values we hold as a Club. This partnership will give every junior player a sense of pride each time they pull on their shirt. We are excited to work with Chick-fil-A and look forward to seeing our young cricketers grow, develop, and enjoy the game with their backing.”

Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Leeds Mike Hoy added:

“We’re proud to support St Chad’s Broomfield Cricket Club and invest in the next generation of local talent. Having played cricket from a young age myself, I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact it has in building confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of community.”

Chick-fil-A’s arrival in Leeds represents the company’s first locally owned and operated restaurant in the UK, bringing its signature chicken sandwiches, hand-spun milkshakes, and freshly prepared menu to the city centre. The restaurant opened in 2025 and is run by Mike, the UK’s first Chick-fil-A Owner/Operator, whose focus on community, hospitality, and team development mirrors the brand’s US ethos. Located on Commercial Street, the restaurant operates Monday to Saturday and maintains the chain’s long-standing tradition of closing on Sundays. If you’re in Leeds city centre, why not swing by the brand‑new Chick‑fil‑A and show some support for a business that’s already investing in our community. Maybe even wearing your new junior shirt sponsored by them!
