Mental Health Awareness Week

As this week is Mental Health Awareness Week, we thought we would profile one of our charity partners as opposed to one of our sponsors.

Opening Up Cricket was formed in 2014 in response to the death of a player at Sefton Park CC and a will to promote positive mental health in our sport. In the year that followed his death, teammates supported the work of C.A.L.M (another of our Charity Partners) to pay tribute. This continued but there was a thought to do something lasting and further reaching. As a result, Opening Up Cricket was created with the aim of speaking to local cricketers in the hope that more conversations about this topic could prevent further tragedies. They have now delivered over 400 sessions across the United Kingdom and Australia. The desire to get their message to the cricketing community remains as strong as ever.

We are pleased to announce that Opening Up Cricket will be visiting our club on the evening of Wednesday 5th June to deliver one of their sessions to our members. Further details will be circulated in the squad groups.
