The numbers have now been double-checked, and we are extremely proud to announce that we achieved a landmark that speaks volumes about our Club. Our senior squads collectively recorded 2,000 appearances across the 2025 season — a milestone made possible because we deliberately build opportunities, remove barriers, and put inclusivity at the heart of everything we do.
The milestone and what it means
How inclusivity turned opportunity into reality
Why this matters beyond the scorebook
The 2,000 appearances are a direct measure of social impact: stronger team bonds, improved wellbeing, and a broader base for sustainable club development. More senior teams means more fixtures, more coaching touchpoints and more pathways to leadership, umpiring and coaching roles that sustain the Club into the future. By proving that inclusivity drives participation, we set a practical example other clubs can adopt to grow the game at grassroots level.
Looking forward
We celebrate this milestone with gratitude for every player, volunteer, coach and family member who made an appearance possible. The work now is simple and steady: keep widening the door, keep smoothing the path in front of people who want to play, and keep turning opportunity into action.
Our target for 2026 is to reach 2,500 appearances across all our teams. If you’d like to help ensure more appearances in 2026 — by coaching, volunteering, sponsoring, matchday travel or offering practical support — speak to our Management Committee, or post on the members’ group and we’ll connect you with the right team.
Bold achievements like this belong to everyone at St Chad’s Broomfield Cricket Club. We’re proud, determined and already planning how to make next season even more accessible, competitive and full of cricket, including adding even more teams, so watch this space!
