We are pleased to announce that Mitch Lewis will be joining us for the 2017 season as our overseas player.
Mitch has just turned 25 and is a left hand top order batsman and left arm seam bowler. He plays his cricket in South Australia for North Gambier, a club his Grandfather helped set up.
He has been a regular A grade cricketer and a player who has also represented his league side. He has scored regular half centuries in A grade cricket whilst at North Gambier and has a highest score of 101* as well as best bowling figures of 6/18, adding all rounder ability with his left arm seam.
His favourite cricketers include Phil Hughes and Shaun Marsh as he enjoys watching left hand openers go about their craft. He is also a fan of Yorkshire and England's Jonny Bairstow as he likes how he has rapidly improved himself and his technique to be a solid contributor.
Outside of cricket, Mitch plays Australian Rules Football for North Gambier during their winter. He also enjoys getting out to the beach when he can.
He is travelling with his girlfriend Chelsea. Mitch said, "Chelsea and I are really excited to get over to England and take on the challenge of starting cricket there. Once the season is complete we are looking to travel Europe and see as much as we can".
Mitch and Chelsea will arrive early April and as well as getting involved with the club, they are looking to find work for the summer. If you may be able to help with this, please contact Paul on 07795 154444 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
